When growth and support use different clocks
In several Birdwell intakes, growth measured activation from first event in the warehouse. Support measured “setup trouble” from first ticket, which often arrived after a weekend. The clocks disagreed by sixty hours. Both teams were accurate. The drop-off meeting was not.
Onboarding Drop-Off Analysis needs a shared glossary of five words, written on one page, with the event name and the ticket tag in the same row. If “pending” means overnight KYC to support and “pending” means unpaid invoice to growth, your map will invent a product flaw.
The Support Handoff Friction Clinic exists because this is boring work that saves more time than another dashboard. We still see teams skip it and then argue in the Studio Seat about a chart that never included the tickets.
If you only change one habit after reading this: invite one support lead to the quiet hour. They will name the toast colour faster than the analyst, and they will be annoyed you did not ask sooner. That annoyance is data.
